Park Group Reports Carbon Nanotubes Function as Optical Wires

December 19th, 2010  -

In a recent article in the journal Nature Nanotechnology, the park group describes the optical conductivity properties of single-walled carbon nanotubes.

The Park group demonstrates that nanotubes display a uniform peak optical conductivity which suggests a universal behaviour similar to that observed in nanotube conductance. They further showed a radiative coupling between two distant nanotubes, with potential applications in metamaterials and optical antennas.
